About AfroGAIN

AfroGAIN is a research initiative supported by the MSCA ROSETTA Fellowship to understand African AI governance. Focused on Ghana and South Africa, the project explores how political, socio-cultural, and ethical values influence AI development and regulation in Africa.

Mission

The project aims to foster inclusive and ethical AI governance that reflects Africa’s sociopolitical and cultural realities. AfroGAIN is more than a research project; it is a platform for dialogue, knowledge creation, and transformative action in Africa’s AI future.

Project Goal

AfroGAIN investigates how political, ethical, and socio-cultural forces shape AI governance in Africa, focusing on Ghana and South Africa, to align closely with the United Nations' SDGs and Irish Aid priorities.
